translation of the 2025 brochure
pensées picturales means pictorial thoughts
100toni
freelance artist
Self-taught, I became an artist, almost by chance, to express myself and share feelings.
I began a “classic” career path, but it didn't fulfill me. So I changed my life to become a creator. I create products and services, nothing artistic at first.
At the same time, I jotted down thoughts and aphorisms and gradually came to illustrate them.
Until my first exhibition in 2010.
Reactions were very positive, but due to the imposter syndrome, it took me 12 years, a series of wonderful encounters, exhibitions in well-known venues and numerous sales to gain confidence.
Today, I've finally come to terms with this particular approach. I want to explore, push the envelope and produce a global work of art... or at least give it a try.
Would you like to join me?

A special style
the staging of concepts
Without really knowing why, I pay particular attention to the individual, to human relationships, to love, to the world, to life...
I try to synthesize what I perceive and render it in the form of graphically staged messages.
These are the pictorial thoughts, that's my style.
While many artists define themselves by their technique: pointillist, cubist, engraver, watercolorist...
I define myself rather by the content, the meaning.
Is there an interest in pictorial thoughts?
In the words of novelist Henry Roth, "if you could stick a name on it, it would belong to you".
Conversely, if we can't name a thing, perhaps it doesn't really exist. And this is even truer of concepts.
How do we feel about the concept of the present moment?
The concept of the personal transformations necessary for the couple's existence?
The importance of being yourself?
By translating them visually!
Concepts materialized in this way become tangible. It's easier to make them your own.
In the end, a pictorial thought is like a shortcut to the perception of a concept.

pictorial thoughts
an example: "Filtrée" (filtered)
As you can see, the design on the right-hand page is made up of squares. Each one represents one of the emotions or feelings designated in the grid below.
Of course, the choice of these feelings and emotions is subjective, and their representation even more so. But that's not what's important.
The message lies elsewhere
If you look closely, you'll see distorted letters.
In the 4 squares at top left, you see an R.
The next 4 squares show an E.
And, in the 4 squares on the right, an A.
The bottom squares contain an L, then an I a T and finally an E.
These distorted letters make up a word.
The word RÉALITÉ (REALITY)!
Can you see it?
The point of this pictorial thought
It's to illustrate that our perception of reality is distorted, filtered by our feelings, our emotions.

a message different media
an integral part of my artistic approach
Pictorial thoughts deal with subjects that concern us all. But everyone has their own way of receiving and appropriating them.
By offering them in different media, colors and sizes, and even in different languages for some, you're more likely to find a materialization of the message that speaks to you.
Want a canvas for its powerful impact?
A small poster to slip into a binder?
Take your pick!
This choice in media and variations means that, when you like a pictorial thought, you can have it, whatever your taste, decoration, budget or even what you want to do with it...
And that's important to me.

your looks, your words, your choices
bring these thoughts to life
Without you, without your reactions, without your purchases,
my approach remains theoretical, intellectual.
It's thanks to you, thanks to our exchanges and of course, thanks to your purchases, that pictorial thoughts exist, that they are in the world.
So yes, treat yourself to art!
Now is the time.
Or on the website, by e-mail or by phone... you'll always be in direct contact with me.
I'd like to reassure you: it's my art, it's my name, and I'll do my best to ensure your satisfaction, so that our relationship is a lasting one.
Best regards,
